Meet Dr. Owen

Dr. Melissa Owen grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she fell in love with dentistry watching her father at his dental practice. She received her undergraduate degree from James Madison University and then attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where she married her high school sweetheart, Conally. After graduating dental school in 2015, Dr. Owen completed her General Practice Residency in the Veterans Administration near Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Owen and her husband then returned to North Carolina and moved to Wilmington while her husband pursued his masters. During this time, she was able to grow and develop her clinical expertise. Dr. Owen additionally practiced in Charleston before ultimately deciding to move back to Wilmington. Dr. Owen and her family love the Wilmington area and could not be more excited about making it their home again!

Dr. Owen values communication, patient satisfaction, and providing high-quality, compassionate dental care. One of Dr. Owen’s favorite parts about dentistry is forming relationships with her patients. She considers herself a “lifelong student” and strives to utilize advanced techniques and technologies. She is dedicated to providing the best dental care to her patients while helping her patients achieve their individual goals. Dr. Owen is a member of the American Dental Association as well as the North Carolina Dental Society.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time at the beach with her husband and beagle mix, Sammy.
