Meet Dr. Ludwig

Harrisburg, PA native Dr. Jon Ludwig has been practicing restorative and cosmetic dentistry in Leland since 2008.  He attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1998.  He continued his education at Temple University, earning his Doctorate in Dentistry in 2002.  Dr. Ludwig practiced dentistry in Oregon and Connecticut prior to moving to North Carolina in 2008.

Dr. Ludwig’s treatment philosophy is simple.  Do what you know you do best, and build a team around you that handles the rest.  His philosophy on patient care is just as simple –   take excellent care of people and good things happen.  His dental practice has always been relationship-based and patient-centered.  He has recruited an excellent team of hygienists, assistants and administrative personnel that share in this philosophy, and has cultivated relationships with local dental Specialists in Periodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics and Pediatrics so that each of his patients is provided exemplary care every step of the way through treatment, no matter how simple or complex.

Dr. Ludwig is a big believer in the notion that one should never stop learning.  He has continued to advance his education in such fields as dental anesthesia, dental implants and esthetics/cosmetics.  He completed course work at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL from 2008-2012.  He attained Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2009.  And he is currently working through a continuum at The Scottsdale Center for Advanced Dentistry in Arizona, as well as staying active in several local dental study clubs.  Most recently, Dr. Ludwig became certified in Invisalign treatment (teeth straightening without the need for braces).

Dr. Ludwig is married to his beautiful wife, Jennifer. The couple are avid competitors in a sport called Pickleball and travel often across the state and country to tournaments. In 2016, they both competed in the first ever US Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, FL, the largest pickleball tournament in the world. Dr. Ludwig took home a bronze medal in Mixed Doubles and a silver medal in Men’s Doubles in the inaugural event. Jennifer then followed suit with a silver medal in Women’s Doubles at the Championships in 2017. Dr. Ludwig and his wife reside in Waterford of the Carolinas in Leland, and are often spotted on the pickleball courts there when they are not in the office.
